5 Simple Ways To Save Money Every Month

Share Post:

Do you desire more money in your life?

Saving money requires a lot of discipline and determination, especially if you want to save a lot of money.

It’s not always as simple as cutting back on a few monthly expenses because it has little impact on your finances.

It becomes easier to save when you concentrate on what you can do rather than what you can’t. If you can’t think of a specific amount to save, start small, even if it’s just a few dollars. The goal here is to begin forming the habit.

It makes no difference whether your savings goals are large or small; what matters is that you have a goal to begin with.

Start off small and gradually increase your savings until you reach your goal.

Never give up!

These could help you save a significant amount of money while also allowing you to enjoy life!

Purchase a Piggy Bank

As old-fashioned as it may appear, saving all of your spare change in a piggy bank adds up to a lot of money in the long run. Bring this old-fashioned practice into the modern era.

Each month, round down your monthly salary and begin saving the difference. For instance, if you are paid $1824 per month, round it down to $1800 to save $24. (spare change). Do this as soon as you get paid, on top of your regular savings.

You’d have saved $1000 before you knew it.

Utilize Cash Envelopes

The Cash envelope system has been in use for quite some time.

Many people have used this simple technique to get out of debt and save money every month.
When you pull money (not plastic) from your wallet, you are far more restrained in your spending.
Every month, on payday, you would place a certain amount of money in an envelope for things like groceries, gas, and eating out

During that month, you may only spend what is in that envelope, there will be no exceptions, and no credit cards will be accepted.

You would keep the money in your account for fixed expenses such as bills and mortgage payments.
Write down your fixed expenses in a budget spreadsheet or planner, and then divide the rest.
You’ll be surprised at how well this system works for you.

Instead, take cash.

Swiping your credit card in the store has less emotional resonance than handing over cash.
When you pay with cash, you are naturally more aware of how much you are spending.

For days out, leave your credit card at home and rely solely on the cash in your wallet. Remove the temptation to swipe.

Utilize Money-Saving Apps

There are now an infinite number of apps available to help you save and manage your money. There is one in particular, a savings calculator tool to create a savings goal and quickly figure out how much money you will have saved up you can find it here: https://www.savingscalculator.org/goal

They have a few calculators that are useful when it comes to saving money whether its for just saving, college, or retirement.

Purchase in Bulk

Look for sales each month and stock up on items you use frequently. In terms of groceries, anything with a long shelf life is ideal for bulk purchasing.

Top Bulk Purchasing Hints:

  • Pay close attention to the price per unit and compare it to what you would pay if you purchased the item one at a time.
  • Do not buy items just for the sake of buying them or buy more than you need; instead, make sure they are products you use on a daily basis.
  • Use the coupons even more when buying in bulk to save even more money.
  • Look for the best deals.

Finishing up…

To save money or even starting a side hustle can seem impossible, especially if you’re in debt or have a family to support.

However, if you try at least one of these money-saving tips, I am confident you will be able to increase your monthly income or decrease your monthly spending.
