8 Social Media Apps To Stay Connected With What Happens

Share Post:

Life is fast-paced and busy. It can be tough to stay on top of all the latest gossip and trends without a few social media apps. There are a plethora of social media apps to choose from, but the following eight are the most essential for staying connected with what’s happening.

Facebook

This app is probably the most well-known and widely used social media platform. A great place to interact with friends or find new ones. You can share your feelings, interests, and thoughts here. The only downside is that it’s easy to post too much information about yourself if you’re not careful.

Instagram

This app lets you take photos and videos, apply filters, then upload them directly onto the platform so others can see them as well. You’ll want to make sure that the content matches what the company wants to share before you post, though.

Twitter

Engage directly with the world’s most influential newsmakers, politicians, celebrities, and so on by tweeting them or following their tweets about breaking news stories that they might be discussing live. Twitter is also great if you want to see how many people were enraged by Taylor Swift‘s latest breakup song lyrics or who got #RoastJoffrey trending – just search under these hashtags.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is great for staying connected with your professional network and finding new opportunities. Use it to stay updated on who’s hiring and which companies are growing.

Pinterest

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard where users collect ideas for different things they’re interested in. You can create boards about anything from recipes to clothes to DIY projects and more.

Tumblr

Tumblr is an app that lets you post text messages (called “tumblelogs”) as well as photos and videos. It’s similar in many ways to Twitter but has a few unique features like its own tagging system called “hashtags.” The site also allows user profiles so people can connect with each other based on shared interests. Many companies use it too because of its ability for targeted advertising campaigns toward specific groups.

Snapchat

Snapchat is an app that lets you connect with friends and share pictures and videos. The app’s main feature, though, is allowing people to send messages (called “snaps”) that disappear after a short amount of time. This allows users more freedom when it comes to sharing because they don’t have to worry about their snaps being saved or screenshotted. Users also can add geofilters which are images overlaid on top of photos for specific locations like cities or events. They’re great for event promoters! Snap kits allow brands and companies to create themed sets complete with filters, stickers, captions, and links back to websites so users can learn more about whatever topic the kit focuses on. Brands use it to promote their products, too.

Foursquare

Foursquare is a location-based social networking service that allows registered users to review the restaurants, bars, and other venues they visit in real life. They can also share these experiences with their friends by “checking into” places via Facebook Places which automatically updates the user’s status (and sends out invitations for others to check-in). And get recommendations from other members who have been there before; earn virtual badges for checking in at specific locations; find people nearby based on interests/hobbies; post photos taken at the venues; and more.
There is a multitude of social media apps to keep you connected with what’s happening in the world. However, there is no excuse for the “what are you talking about” expression on your face next time someone mentions what Vince Offer ShamWow is doing or the latest “it” bar in town.
