Are you thinking of heading off on some new travels in the next couple of months? If you are and you are stuck for a location to travel to, we have come up with some great ideas for you. Sometimes, people want something a little different from your typical tourist holidays, and that is why we have written this article. Here you will find three suggestions that will not be on most travel guides, but that we think are awesome. Let’s take a look at what they are.
Cumberland Island
The first place that we are going to look at is an island off the coast of Georgia which has a whole host of protected beaches and maritime life. If you are interested in seeing some of the more unusual sights, then you can head over and see the First African Baptist Church which is to the north side of the island. You can also see feral horses and loggerhead turtles when you come to this part of the world. These are some truly wonderful experiences that we would urge everyone to try out.
Do make sure that you are looking into a hotel near Cumberland Island because you do not want to be too far away to travel every day. Make sure that you also spend some time checking out the Dungeness Ruins which are the remains of a mansion that was built by one of the Carnegie brothers!
Malbork, Poland
We suggest that you visit this place for one reason: The Castle of the Teutonic Order. This is the largest castle in the entire continent, and while the palace of Versailles is very pretty, it is a completely different experience to this castle. Some people are under the impression that once you have seen one, you have seen them all but each castle or palace is unique in their own way, each providing a different experience, and this is not one that you should miss out on.
You will find this castle a few hours from Gdansk, and if you are calculating based on land mass, it is the largest castle in the world! It was originally built under the guise of being a monastery, but in truth it was an exquisite residence for the Knights who had been tasked with converting pagans to Christians. While it was bombed heavily in World War II, it has been restored to its former glory.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
If you head over to Blagaj, you will find a wonderful water source that you won’t quite believe. It is a beautiful sight to behold, and one that you are going to want to visit for years to come. You will find the banks of the Buna river which are a lovely green colour, and provides a serene experience for you and your companions. Make sure that you taste the water from here too, because it is some of the freshest that you will ever have!
We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now know some of the best places that you didn’t know you needed to see!
